Return to Fort Laramie, WY
Have you ever felt as if you drawn to a particular place? As if that place were calling you back or that you just missed it for some reason? I'm not talking about your hometown or a place that you chose to make a memory but somewhere almost seemingly random. That place for me, is Old Bedlam, located in historic Fort Laramie, Wyoming.
If you are interested in its history, wander back to the 3-part series covering our very first visit there. In it, we take you through each building in a little bit more depth and detail. During that visit, we didn't know what to expect and encountered some spine-tingling events including a very surprise encounter with a park official and a spirit that loved knocking.
This time, however, we knew what we wanted and were more than determined to get it.

Coming with me on this journey is Violet, a novice medium and specter-hunter-in-training and Kaitlyn, a seasoned diviner, connector to the spiritual and Native American descendent. We decided to tour the entire grounds, paying particular attention to areas where there would be strong energy ties or we've had previous experiences.
Captain's Quarters
On our previous trip, we didn't get much otherworldly activity but a very real world scare from a park official. This time, both fortunately and unfortunately, we received no visitors, communication or events during the walk-through.
The home is no doubt beautiful and very well kept. We were all in agreement that there was no sense of unease and happily decided to press forward on with the tour.
Our next stop was across the parade field at what is known as "Old Bedlam". As few may know, Old Bedlam is the oldest documented and oldest standing military building in the state of Wyoming. Originally built in 1849, it served as bachelor officers quarters and then as the post headquarters. This also happens to be where we've always gotten the most paranormal activity to date.
OLD BEDLAM
The Door
Nothing seemed or felt extraordinary when we stepped foot inside or as we slowly started touring the hallways. At first, they were some other visitors inside with us, making it difficult to hear anything aside from their talking and the shuffling of footsteps on the hardwood floors. However, after a few minutes, we were left and the quiet was once again restored. Well, the almost quiet.
We made our way upstairs and to the top of the upper floor landing, looking around somewhat aimlessly. Then we heard it, a very loud but slow CREAK coming from the lower level. We stopped dead in our tracks as the creaking continued, picking up speed and ending in a massive SLAM!
I turned to look down the staircase with the camera and managed to record almost the whole event. One of the doors that had been propped open this whole time, was slowly closing and eventually slamming shut. Then, it proceeded to open and slam a total of 4 times as if some unseen force was opening the door slowly and forcefully closing it again.
Upon inspection, we found that in order to keep the door fully open and prevent it from closing, it would have had to have been latched to the wall. We made several attempts to make sense of this, from crosswinds to faulty latches, and we came up with nothing viable.

The Knocks
On our walk-through of this building during the last trip, we were able to pick up on very distinct and loud knocking coming from upstairs while no one was up there. When we asked for them to repeat the knocking, within moments, we were greeting with a series of knocks coming from a corner bedroom - a bedroom that is completely inaccessible to the public.
In an attempt to capture any movement from where the sound was coming from, we set up the camera upstairs and left it to record while we stayed downstairs. Unfortunately, we were not able to see anything on the video footage. However, the audio later revealed to have captured all the knocking sounds we had been hearing.
Emm (whispering): Is there someone here? Can you just knock for us, then we can go?
**knock....knock**
Emm: Can you do that again please? Just a little louder?
**knock...knock....knock**
It's at this point that Violet and Kaitlyn reported seeing a rocking chair sitting in the same corner that the sound was coming from. They decided to investigate without equipment to see if I would continue to hear knocking and they would see any movement explaining the sound. Unfortunately, all activity stopped once they reached the top of the stairs.
